Women's fiction novels
In the writing world, it's described as being a 'pantser' or a 'plotter'. Though it takes a lot more work for me on the editing end, I've always been a pantser...just jumping in and seeing what happens.
I handwrite all of my books first...the only way my brain works properly! Black pens and spiral notebooks are preferred. Then I type everything up after.
Music, always. What music depends on the story I'm writing and the emotion I need to pull from it. There are certain playlists and artists that will now always remind me of certain books I've written.
I do have an 'office' tucked into the corner of my bedroom, and that's where I prefer to write. However, I'll write wherever I can. Car line, at the beach, sitting by the pool, on the couch in the living room, waiting at my kids' activities, etc.
Really since I was about 10. I studied creative writing more deeply in high school and college. I then put it down for a few years, but came back in earnest in 2014 to write novels and get published.
